For Contributors

Adventure Sports and Beyond looks to explore different genres of adventure sports and allied activities: issues concerning health, fitness, ecology & exploration, thereby highlighting avenues to exploit the abundant resource that is our natural outdoors. It is our endeavour to promote Adventure Sports, Outdoor Activities and Active Lifestyles in a manner that they positively impact and inspire an individual and the society at large. Finally, through this magazine, we are trying to foster the development of a new ‘beat’ of journalism – ‘Adventure Sports Journalism’ and attempt to spotlight the social relevance of what we call the ‘Spirit of Adventure’.

We are always open to innovative work that creatively reflects the essence of the magazine.

We invite submissions ranging from short vignettes to extensively-developed articles, and also invite suggestions of recommended resources and article leads. We are looking for contributors who share stories and experiences, not just ideas. Please feel free to write about challenges, not just successes, and describe specific situations that will help your story come alive for the reader. The best course of action before you begin writing an article would be to drop us an e-mail at contact@adventuresportsandbeyond.com and we can hash out the details regarding article structure, word-length and remuneration for your work.

Article and Photo Submission Guidelines
I. Submitting Articles: We will promise to read your article, but we may save it and publish it in a future issue. We also reserve the right to edit, shorten, or revise your article. Most of the time we contact authors about this ahead of time and get their comments, corrections, etc.

II. Getting Permission Ahead of Time: Please send the article only when you have permission from anyone you need it from to avoid future complications.

III. Publication Rights: Once your article appears in the magazine we automatically own the rights and your article may also appear on our website or in future compilations.

IV. Photos: If we publish your article, we want to accompany it with compelling images that illustrate your subject. You know your subject best, so we are appealing to you for images. If others in your community like taking pictures, they might already have great images to go with your article. It is all right if you want to submit an article but cannot supply the photographs. However, please give us enough advance notice so that if we use your article we can get an illustrator.

V. No matter how you send us your photos, please remember to include information for the caption of each photo, as well as the full name of whomever we should credit for the photo. A good caption includes the location, all the names of the people or group in the photo, and the date if that applies. Also, please prepare to send high resolution images.

Copyright Details: Adventure Sports & Beyond holds a one-time use copyright for the articles and photographs used along with the usage of the materials for purposes of the publicity o the issue it is used in. These stipulations, however, do not hold in case of commissioned articles and photographs.
